TMILL as a good corporate citizen consciously meets its obligations towards the community and the environment in its areas of operation. Following the Tata group philosophy, TMILL is also involved in activities that have the potential of uplifting the quality of life of people,it is not just a part of its corporate social responsibility but also integral to the way the company functions.

During the year 2009-10, TMILL has been keenly promoting various social development initiatives in operational areas as well as in peripheral regions. A few initiatives have been mentioned below -

• Paradip office of TMILL conducted a blood donation camp in association with Lions Club of Paradip.Three officers have been actively involved as the members of Lions Club in rendering social service there.
• TMILL group made a donation to CINI (Child in Need Institute) to promote their programme “Adopt a mother and save her child”.
• Donation was also made to NGO Padakshep towards providing alternative means of income to women residing in rural areas, and for providing vocational training to adolescents and young people.
• TMILL donated computers to Imam Chisti Madrassa, identified by CII. A computer was also donated to Birsamunda School at Paradip.
• TMILL Haldia office contributed in development of a sports arena in Assembly of God Church School.
• The employees in Haldia actively participated in the ‘International Coastal Clean-up’ initiative, organised by the Indian Coast Guard on 25th September 2010.
