Mr. Prabhat Kumar is the Vice President - Supply Chain at Tata Steel and brings over three decades of experience with the Tata Steel Group. He has held several senior leadership roles across the organisation, providing him with a deep understanding of Tata Steel's operating model, value chain, and stakeholder ecosystem. 

In his current role, Mr. Kumar provides strategic leadership across the supply chain function, with a strong focus on operational excellence, integration across businesses, and enabling sustainable growth. His career reflects extensive exposure to core business functions, large-scale operations, and stakeholder engagement.

Prior to this assignment, Mr. Kumar served as Vice President - Marketing & Sales (Flat Products) at Tata Steel, where he played a significant role in shaping market-facing strategies. He has overseen the launch of several new products in response to evolving customer and market requirements and is recognised for his strong techno-commercial expertise, combining operational insight with customer-centric leadership.

Mr. Kumar is a Mechanical Engineer from B.I.T. Sindri and joined Tata Steel in 1990 as a Graduate Trainee at Jamshedpur. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur, and has completed the CEDEP General Management Programme from INSEAD, France, strengthening his strategic and global management perspective.

In addition to his executive responsibilities, Mr. Kumar serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of Tata Steel subsidiary companies, contributing to governance, strategic oversight, and long-term business sustainability.
